Shall we open a new chapter of world history?
Through the 20th century, English has eventually won out, over all the other ethnic languages and Esperanto, being our pan-koine (世界共通語) – the second language of all human beings (except natives), the intellectual language, the commercial language, even the programming language... And this website has to use English at first.
We are in need of one pan-koine, as indeed as we have to learn English as expedient.
However, it is by nature improper for English to be our pan-koine: 德不配位 (its virtue does not match its status). Born on an island by some immigrations, how can English have the virtue of benefitting all human beings? Rather, as expedient, English has no virtues but vices.
Meanwhile, language is not only a system of signs, but also ideas, namely a way of thinking. Shall we, all human beings, stop at the English-limited way of thinking forever?
It is the time to change the world.
You can not replace English with nothing or something just a bit or some bits better, such as Esperanto, but something with a radically different nature: better-by-nature (the motto of my start-up: Physei) thus immensely better. What replaced horse was not genetically modified horse, but motor!
English – horse
Eucosmy – motor
The kids of the future world, whether English native or not, will enjoy the same life: to learn for weeks and by game a true world language & script belonging to all of them. The non-native kids (95% of the world) will dispense with the torture to learn for years and by rote a tricky language with a tricky orthography which did not, does not and will never belong to them.
Even now, having learnt English, we can still benefit from learning Eucosmy. It takes a bit, but brings a lot: to unlock an unprecedentedly rich and sound way of thinking.
We homines sapientes, from a single origin,
maybe had a single language. To name it: Babelish.
As we scattered about the earth, Babelish got muddled,
through a messy history, by fission and fusion,
to now. To name them: the Babelian languages.
English, French, German... Chinese and even Esperanto,
all are Babelian and all inherit the original nature:
Babelism, which is to say:
the signs are arbitrary and thus mutable.
For example, to say the number 1,
"one", "une", "eine"... "yi" and even "uno",
none of the variants can claim to be the right one,
for there is no any reason to endorse their being.
With Babelism, everything is unreasonable,
compelling rote learning.
But homo sapiens is an animal with reason.
And reason is what all of us have in common:
"reasonable" is a synonym for "universal".
Why not just use our reason,
to invent a universal language?
Eucosmy is the eventual realization of such a beautiful dream with all its aspects:
0. Above all – to establish an order between all the possible thoughts in human Spirit, which allows using a few to express many as in the case of numbers.
1. Thanks to such a universal language, all the world's peoples can communicate with each other in just one week.
2. How to invent it? By the true Philosophy.
3. The new language should help to make clear everything, contrary to our traditional languages, which are so confusing as to hamper our pursuit of truth.
4. Last but not least – what is the Science? I think I find it: PSA.
– MSSM (Multiple Sememe Single Morphic)
This is inspired by parallel computing architecture. While the name suggests "artificial", PSA is in fact very "natural": a bionic of the babies' way of signifying.
To start with "mama" & "papa": the words shared by most languages of the world, namely the universal words. No matter how the adults' languages have changed (for example, the ancient Chinese "ma" & "pa" changed into "mu" & "fu" through two thousand years), the babies' language remains, being just one universal (so the same "ma" & "pa" relive in modern Chinese). Babies are stubborn. If we adhere to the babies' way of signifying, we are on the right way to a by-nature universal language.
How do they do it? They don't obey one social convention or another, but the physiology of the mouth, which is the same to all human beings:
labial nasal + open vowel = m + a = female + parent = mother
labial plosive + open vowel = p + a = male + parent = father
Another name for PSA is "eucosmesis" (well-design). The universal language created with it is named "Eucosmy".
"Words are dead!" Here are no words per se but word lattices and word clusters, which, like acceleration data structures, make it rote-free to learn Eucosmy. Once you learn one word, you can infer ten words; once you learn ten words, you can infer hundred words.
Note:
Our traditional languages tend to be the reverse: SSMM (Single Sememe Multiple Morphic). Just to signify "1", English has "a", "one", "first", "once", "single", "uni", "mono"... which means, English is very rich? No, fake richness. The real richness is the richness of ideas, not of signs for the same idea. SSMM is wasteful, which implies poverty: we should have used the effort to get more ideas, not more signs.
R = Var<M-S> * Var<S-M> * Sc
Var: variant average ratio
Sc: sign complexity
In the case of 10 numbers, English is estimated to be, at best, R = 10 * 5 * 12 = 600 times more costful to learn than Eucosmy, partly due to its irremediable phono-graphic divergence.
V-Mind is Physei's far-term project of better-by-nature AI. Note: it is just far-term. Instead of feigning a language comprehension (output as reaction to imput), V-Mind aims to develop a linguistic cognition and seek truths by reasoning.
Definitely, Eucosmy can immensely reduce the complexity and thus the cost to realize it.
With our Babelistic languages, such a ceiling-breaking approach is even impossible.
